Hey everyone,
I hope you're doing well. It's February now, and I owe you all an update since I missed January due to some exciting developments.
So, here's the scoop: I've been diligently applying for jobs, sometimes up to 5-10 a day. My go-to platforms were Indeed and Totaljobs, where I've applied to over 300 positions since November. Rejections were plentiful, and I hit some low points where giving up felt like the easiest option. In the meantime, I juggled two jobs – a full-time night role unrelated to IT and an IT support gig at my ex-school.
But then, something unexpected happened. I received serious offers from both LinkedIn and a networking company. Initially sceptical, I found myself in the third stage of interviews with LinkedIn, and the other company impressed me with their technical test and a face-to-face interview. The night the recruiter told me they wanted me, I was over the moon.
So, I've made the decision to resign from both current jobs and focus solely on this new IT opportunity. It's daunting, no doubt, but it's also my chance to dive headfirst into the field I'm passionate about. There will definitely be challenges, but I'm ready to embrace them.
I'll admit, there's some fear lingering in the background. But time keeps moving forward, and I'm not getting any younger. I still have time to catch up and grow in my career. And that's exactly what I intend to do.
I'm currently diving into pen-testing, building a personal home cloud using Ubuntu Linux, and wrapping up some website projects. I promise to share a detailed self-interview soon so those in similar situations can relate.
That's all from me for now. Thanks for following along on this journey.
Best,
Arpad
Quick update: You can now leave comments without signing in. Just type any name, but let's keep it respectful, alright? Also, if you have a story, I'm all ears and more than happy to share it on my next blog! This blog is like an open diary for me, so while I don't expect a huge audience, I appreciate those who join me on this journey.
Oh, and a heads up: There's a little glitch with comments disappearing after a page refresh. Not to worry, though—I'm working on fixing it.
Thanks for being part of this adventure!
